Promotion Option

How companion promotion options work in Slayer Legend - the dice system, every option's value tiers and probabilities, page multipliers, and the Ether max-roll unlock.

Promotion Options Overview

Promotion options are the dice-rolled half of companion power. Where enhancement levels what a companion does, promotion options are randomized stat lines - Extra ATK, crit damage, mana recovery, and so on - rolled onto each companion's option slots usingDice. Each roll lands on a random option at a random rarity tier, and the wiki's companion data tracks seven option slots per companion, with additional slots earned by winning advancement battles. Advancement also unlocks further option pages, and the pages multiply: rows on page 2 count at 1.5x their rolled value, and page 3 counts at 2x - which is why advancement battles are worth fighting promptly rather than someday.

The system is a slot machine, but a slot machine you can play well. The full option list, the value at every rarity tier, and the roll probabilities are below; the strategy follows after.

Typically the player will benefit from having companions with full pages of max roll for attack. If the player is lacking mana recovery (ie. running out of mana when using fulg) it would help to add one or two rolls of mana recovery.

Probabilities

Gray is 23% / Green is 20% / Orange is 30% / Purple is 20% / Red is 5% / Blue is 2%

Reading the Tiers

The colors are the same rarity ladder used across the game's roll systems - the Slayer's own promotion ability slots use an identical Common-through-Mythic spread with the same probabilities. The shape of the odds is what matters strategically: the middle tiers dominate (gray, green, and orange together are 73% of rolls), a red roll is a 1-in-20 event, and the blue maximum lands 2% of the time. Rolling a full page of blue-tier results naturally is, to put it gently, a project. That 2% figure is the entire reason the Ether-unlocked max-roll purchase exists - and the reason experienced players treat it as the system's real endpoint rather than a luxury.

Rolling Strategy

The community consensus has been stable for a long time: max-roll Extra ATK across every slot, on every companion. ATK multiplies through everything you do, the blue-tier 20% per slot compounds with the page multipliers (a 20% roll on page 3 is effectively 40%), and no other option survives comparison for general progression. The sanctioned exception is mana: if your skill rotation runs dry mid-fight - Fulgurous going quiet is the classic tell - one or two mana recovery rolls fix the problem and cost you very little ATK.

Two habits keep the dice bill sane. First, don't chase blue rolls on every companion at once - concentrate on the companions your playstyle leans on, since the page multipliers reward depth over breadth. Second, once Ether is in reach, stop gambling and start saving: dice spent on 2% chances are dice not saved toward the guaranteed buyout described below. The math on that trade rarely favors the slot machine.

Additional Information

At [Ether] Promotion the player unlocks the ability to roll for the highest option available. This allows the player to change all promotion options for the selected companion to the maximum possible for 40,000 dice. Once an option has been selected it cannot be undone.

Note the last sentence, because it's the one irreversible decision in the system: max-rolling locks the selected options in permanently. Make sure the page is set the way you want it - Extra ATK, plus any deliberate mana rolls - before you spend the 40,000. For how promotion options fit alongside skill and passive leveling in the wider companion budget, see Companion Builds.
