Skills
The Slayer Legend skill system - grades, elements, actives versus passives, MP and cooldowns, and how skill builds come together.
Skills Overview
Skills are the other half of your damage - your weapon swings on its own, but skills are where builds actually live. The wiki's database tracks 46 skills spread across seven grades (Common, Great, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Immortal), and nearly every one carries one of the four elements - Fire, Water, Wind, or Earth - feeding the attribute damage systems that run through the whole game. You equip a loadout of them, and the Auto toggle fires actives for you while you idle.
The skills split into two broad families, and knowing the difference is the start of every build:
- Actives deal damage or trigger effects: they cost MP, run cooldowns, and level deep (most cap at level 130), with their damage percentage climbing every level. Fire Slash, Thunderbolt Slash, Giga Strike - the fireworks.
- Buffs and passives shape your character: attack speed per swing (Speed Sword), scaling ATK (Earth's Will, Burning Sword), flat power (Iron Will), survival tools (Dancing Waves). Most cap at level 20, and several cost no MP at all - they simply run.
Skills unlock as you progress - the starter kit arrives within your first few character levels, with higher grades joining later - some learned via skill books, some requiring specific equipment to learn. Leveling a skill raises its numbers; the full data table has every value.
Building a Loadout
The eternal split is farming versus bossing. Farming wants wide, fast area damage - the classic picks are Fulgurous (a 0.5-second-cooldown charge, and the backbone of most farming builds), Red Lightning, Thunderbolt Slash, and Flame Wave, backed by the permanent passives. Boss builds trade coverage for single-target burst: Giga Strike, Hellfire Slash, Fire Blast, with Meditation to recycle cooldowns. Save both as presets and swap per content - your promotion attempt and your overnight farm should not share a skill bar.
Mana management is the quiet constraint under all of it. Skill-heavy builds chew MP, which is why Mana's Blessing exists, why Luna's mana kit among the companions matters, and why mana rolls on promotion options stop being filler at some point. If your bar goes quiet mid-fight, you don't need more damage - you need more mana.

And when you're ready to theorycraft: the Skill Builder lets you assemble, save, and share full skill builds, and the Skill Stone Builder does the same for refinement setups. Steal a good build from the community, then improve it. That's the way.
